Texas: Man in Zombie Costume Stabs Two at Austin Coffee Shop, Flees and Hits Robotaxi; 20-Year-Old Charged With Two Felonies

Austin, Travis County, Texas — A man dressed as a zombie stabbed two people at a coffee shop on the evening of Oct. 28, then fled by car and crashed into an unoccupied self-driving vehicle before being arrested, Austin police announced Oct. 30.
According to the Austin Police Department, the suspect is Shankar Temple Grace, 20. The attack took place at the Buzz Mill, a coffee shop and bar, just as a comedy show was about to begin. Officers responding to a 'disturbance hot shot' call found one victim with life-threatening injuries and another with non-life-threatening injuries; both were taken to hospital and were last reported in stable condition.
Grace fled at high speed in a pickup truck, struck an unoccupied autonomous vehicle, and was later caught in a manhunt. He is being held in the Travis County Jail on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony. Police have not released the victims' identities or a motive, and the investigation continues.
