Keystone Resort Opens for the 2026-27 Ski Season on October 30 with More Than 2 Miles of Terrain Across 43 Acres

Keystone, Summit County, Colorado — Keystone Resort officially opened for the 2026-27 ski season on October 30, operating from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with more than two miles of skiing and snowboarding terrain across 43 acres.
The opening-day runs were Schoolmarm and Silver Spoon, reached via the Montezuma Express chairlift, with skiers and riders using the River Run Gondola to go up and return to the base, as there is no skiable route back down yet. A hike-to terrain park on the Scout run let freestyle skiers try out features early.
Opening-day festivities included free coffee and doughnuts for early arrivals, dining specials at the Summit House and live DJ entertainment. Keystone is the second Colorado resort to open this season, after Arapahoe Basin on October 28, following weeks of snowmaking.
The resort said it will expand terrain as temperatures and snowmaking allow, and uphill access remains closed in the early season. Summit County is the core of Colorado's high-country skiing, and more resorts nearby will open through November as the Rocky Mountain winter tourism season gets under way.
