DHS Seeks MS-13 Member Contreras-Vasquez, Released Twice in Maryland and Still At Large

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued a statement on October 30 seeking Allan Adonay Contreras-Vasquez, a Honduran national whom DHS identifies as an MS-13 gang member and who remains at large. DHS published the ICE tip line, (866) 347-2423, for information leading to his arrest. The case is in Prince George's County, Maryland.
According to DHS, ICE lodged a detainer against Contreras-Vasquez on December 16, 2025, while he was in custody at the Prince George's County Detention Center in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. He had been arrested after an assault in Hyattsville in which he and five other suspects allegedly stalked a victim who had just gotten off a bus and stabbed the victim multiple times. Prince George's County declined to honor the detainer and released him.
On February 18, 2026, he was formally charged with eight offenses, including attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder and first-degree assault. DHS says a witness claimed he raped a 13-year-old girl in January 2026, between his release and the announcement of charges; he was arrested again by Prince George's County in May 2026 and released again in June 2026, and remains at large.
DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said in the statement that sanctuary policies release violent criminals into American communities. According to DHS, Contreras-Vasquez entered the United States illegally through Texas in August 2023, was arrested by the Border Patrol, and was released into the country.
