JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Governor Mike Kehoe's office announced on October 30 that the Missouri State Capitol dome will shine orange from sunset on Monday, November 2, until sunrise on November 3, marking the kickoff of the second annual statewide State Employee Food Drive.

The drive, running from November 2 through December 11, is a joint effort of the Missouri Department of Social Services, the Office of Administration and the Governor's Office. It encourages state employees across Missouri to donate shelf-stable, nutritious foods for regional food banks supporting local families during the holiday season. Collection barrels provided by regional food banks will be placed in state office buildings across Missouri, and all donations will remain in the communities where they are collected.

"Public service doesn't end when the workday is over, and I'm incredibly proud that our state team members are once again coming together to help families in need this holiday season," Kehoe said. Orange is the national color of hunger awareness and hunger relief. The state is partnering with Feeding Missouri, a coalition of six food banks serving all 114 Missouri counties and the City of St. Louis, whose partners provide food to more than one million people each year.
