The State of New Jersey issued a pre-election guide on October 30: Election Day falls on Tuesday, November 3, and registered voters statewide can cast ballots by mail, vote early in person, or vote at their assigned polling place on Election Day. The state capital is Trenton, in Mercer County.

For mail voting, voters may request a ballot in person from their County Clerk by 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2. Completed ballots must be placed in a secure drop box in the voter's county, delivered in person to the County Board of Elections, or postmarked by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, and voters can track their ballot through the state's voter registration system. Early in-person voting runs from October 24 through November 1 at locations in every county, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, with no appointment needed. Polls on Election Day are open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with accommodations available for voters with disabilities.

The state is also promoting RecoverMe, a free app that uses cognitive behavioral therapy methods to help residents manage problem gambling, with validated assessment tools included. The update also carried information on help with prescription drug costs.

Clocks also fall back this weekend as daylight saving time ends in the early hours of November 1, and with deer mating season under way, the state reminded drivers to slow down and stay alert, especially at dawn and dusk.
