Minnesota Governor Walz Appoints Peter Goss to Fill Fourth Judicial District Vacancy in Hennepin County

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz announced on October 30 the appointment of Peter Goss as District Court Judge in Minnesota's Fourth Judicial District. The governor's office is in St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota. Goss will replace the Honorable Matthew G. Frank and will be chambered in Minneapolis, in Hennepin County.
"Peter Goss is an exceptional legal talent who will be a tremendous asset to the Fourth Judicial District and people of Hennepin County," said Governor Walz. "As one of our state's foremost civil litigation experts and a leader in ensuring equal access to justice, he will bring invaluable experience to the bench, and equally important, serve with a core belief that every person who appears in front of him receives quality legal representation, regardless of their ability to pay."
Minnesota's Fourth Judicial District encompasses Hennepin County. Peter Goss is associate general counsel at Pentair, where he leads the company's representation in lawsuits across the country and around the world. He previously was a litigation partner at Blackwell Burke, P.A., and an attorney at Faegre Baker Daniels LLP.
Goss's community involvement includes serving on the Board of Directors of Volunteer Lawyers Network, including as board chair, and now as co-chair of the VLN Benefactors' Board. He also volunteers with the Hennepin County Housing Court clinic, where he advises low-income tenants and landlords. Goss earned his B.A., M.A., and J.D. from the University of California-Berkeley.
