Department of War Puts Fiscal 2026 Military Intelligence Program Top Line at $30.9 Billion, With All Other Figures Still Classified

At the Pentagon in Arlington County, Virginia, the Department of War announced on October 30 that the appropriated top line budget for the Military Intelligence Program (MIP) for fiscal year 2026 is $30.9 billion, aligned to the National Defense Strategy.
The Department determined that releasing this top line figure does not jeopardize any classified activities within the MIP. No other MIP budget figures or program details will be released, as they remain classified for national security reasons.
The Military Intelligence Program is the overall budget framework for U.S. military intelligence activities across the services and defense intelligence agencies; by long-standing practice, the Department releases only the single top line figure each year.
