The Golden State Warriors defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 112-95 on Oct. 30 at Chase Center in San Francisco, California, erasing a 25-point deficit in both teams' NBA Cup opener. Golden State won its third straight game and improved to 3-3. Los Angeles fell to 4-2.

Stephen Curry scored 31 points with six assists and four rebounds for Golden State, making eight of 14 three-point shots, a season high. In the fourth quarter he passed Dominique Wilkins for 18th place on the NBA's all-time scoring list. Brandin Podziemski added 21 points, six assists and five rebounds, De'Anthony Melton scored 16 off the bench and Georges Niang 11, as the Warriors bench outscored the Lakers reserves 50-7. Luka Doncic led all scorers with 37 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two blocks for Los Angeles, including 21 points in the first quarter. Austin Reaves scored 21 points, and Jake LaRavia, Walker Kessler and Matisse Thybulle had 10 apiece, but the Lakers committed 22 turnovers.

Los Angeles led 38-15 after the first quarter and by 25 points early in the second. Golden State answered with a 38-15 second quarter to tie the game 53-53 at halftime, becoming the first team in the shot-clock era to trail by at least 23 after the first quarter and be tied or better at halftime. The Lakers still led 72-63 midway through the third before a 33-8 Warriors run, followed by the first 11 points of the fourth quarter, put the game away. The Lakers had beaten the Warriors 127-105 at home in the teams' season opener on Oct. 21.
