UAH Volleyball Beats West Alabama 3-0 to Claim Gulf South Conference Regular Season Title
In Livingston, Sumter County, Alabama, the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) Chargers women's volleyball team defeated the University of West Alabama 3-0 on the road on the night of October 30 to claim the Gulf South Conference regular season championship.
The set scores were 25-15, 25-21 and 25-17. The Chargers improved to 22-2 overall and 14-1 in conference play, locking up the No. 1 seed and the right to host the conference championship tournament. West Alabama, 24-5 overall and 11-4 in the league, entered the night in second place as the last challenger to UAH's title run.
Freshman Amelia Smith led UAH with nine kills, while Kayla Ward, Mary Grace Bundrant and Emily Redman added eight apiece. The Chargers totaled 16 blocks, with Bundrant recording eight. UAH remains on the road next, visiting Mississippi College.
