Henderson Animal Shelter Halves Senior Pet Adoption Fees for November: Applies to Dogs and Cats Aged 7 and Older

The City of Henderson Animal Protection Services, in Henderson, Clark County, Nevada, has announced that adoption fees for pets aged seven and older will be cut by 50 percent throughout November, in observance of the national Adopt-a-Senior-Pet Month, encouraging residents to give older shelter animals a home.
According to the agency, the discount applies to all adoptable dogs, cats and other animals aged seven and older at the shelter, and runs through November 30. The shelter is located at 300 E. Galleria Drive, Henderson, NV 89011, and is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; adoptions must be finalized by 4:30 p.m. The shelter is closed on Sundays and city holidays, including Sunday, November 1, and prospective adopters can visit starting Monday.
The agency says adoption fees typically cover routine vaccinations, spay or neuter surgery, microchip identification and registration, and a rabies tag or Henderson pet license. Senior pets generally have settled temperaments, and the agency hopes the reduced fees will lower the barrier to adopting older animals that tend to wait longer in shelters.
Henderson Animal Protection Services is the city's only open-admission shelter, reuniting lost pets with their owners and providing care and adoption services citywide. For information, call (702) 267-4970.
