Rockford Transit Offers Free Rides to the Polls on Election Day, November 3

In Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois, the Rockford Mass Transit District announced it will offer free rides to and from polling places on Election Day, November 3.
The free service covers both fixed-route and paratransit riders, running from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day — beyond the local polling hours of 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Fixed-route passengers simply tell the operator they are traveling to or from a polling place within the service area. Paratransit riders must schedule their trips before 5 p.m. on November 2 and provide the address of their polling place for both the outbound and return trips.
The district said the free rides are available only on Election Day and will not be offered during early voting. The program is meant to remove transportation barriers so voters without cars can still reach the polls.
