In Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, a 1,056-pound giant pumpkin debuted at the city's third annual Trunk or Treat event, setting a new New Mexico record for giant pumpkin growing, according to a report published October 31.

The pumpkin was grown by local grower Allen Clark. He set the state record in 2025 with a 1,010-pound pumpkin and raised his own record by 46 pounds this year.

The event was hosted by Albuquerque Community Safety and featured families in costumes, trick-or-treating, and participation by officers and family dogs, with the record pumpkin as the centerpiece. Attendees included 7-year-old AJ Apodaca and 1-year-old Chloe. The event is now in its third year.
