About 100 Attend Paxton Rally in Fort Worth as Bus Brings in Supporters from Wise County

Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas — Republican Texas Attorney General and U.S. Senate nominee Ken Paxton held a campaign rally in Fort Worth on October 31 attended by about 100 people, roughly 70 of whom arrived on a charter bus from Runaway Bay in Wise County. The bus was paid for by JD Enright, a longtime friend of Paxton's, and carried supporters from Wise County and Jack County. The 10 a.m. rally was held at Cullen Yards in Fort Worth; Tarrant County is claimed by Republicans as the last red urban county in the United States.
Reporting contrasted the turnout with Paxton's Democratic opponent James Talarico, whose Fort Worth rally on the first day of early voting drew roughly 1,400 people, while Paxton's rally the same day drew about 250.
Paxton trails Talarico in pre-election polling; an October 20-27 survey showed Talarico at 49 percent to Paxton's 43 percent. On rally day, the Paxton campaign looked to supporters bused in from rural counties to offset its urban organizing gap.
