Long Branch to Strictly Enforce Halloween Curfew for Under-17s, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Long Branch, Monmouth County, New Jersey — Police announced they will strictly enforce a Halloween curfew for those under 17 on October 31, running from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., to head off the kind of large teen gatherings seen on recent holiday weekends.
The curfew was set in response to a teen takeover in May, when hundreds of people gathered in Long Branch, fights broke out and six people were arrested. Police have since stepped up patrols and controls on holiday weekends.
Cities across the country are taking similar steps this Halloween weekend, rolling out curfews and extra officers in places still reeling from takeovers that drew hundreds of teens and ended in fights and arrests.
