Saturday, October 31, 2026 · States · GSM News

New Mexico — State Police announced on October 31 that throughout November they will conduct sobriety checkpoints, saturation patrols, and registration, insurance and driver's license checkpoints in all 33 counties statewide.

The agency said it is publicizing the operations to reduce impaired driving-related fatalities through continued media attention and intensive enforcement. The statewide effort is supported by overtime grant funding from the New Mexico Department of Transportation's Traffic Safety Division. Officers will check for impaired driving while also verifying registration, insurance and licenses.

State Police did not announce specific checkpoint locations or times, and asked the public to report suspected impaired or wrong-way drivers by calling *DWI (394) or local law enforcement.
