Virginia Governor Spanberger Campaigns for Three Constitutional Amendments on Reproductive Freedom, Marriage and Voting Rights

Lynchburg, Virginia — Governor Abigail Spanberger visited the Jubilee Family Development Center in Lynchburg on October 30 to campaign for three state constitutional amendments on the November 3 ballot, urging voters to approve them.
The three measures are: Question 1, which would establish a fundamental right to reproductive freedom in the state constitution, covering abortion, contraception and fertility treatments; Question 2, which would remove the existing ban on same-sex marriage from the constitution; and Question 3, which would automatically restore voting rights to people convicted of felonies upon release from incarceration, replacing the current system of applying to the governor.
Spanberger appeared alongside representatives of Birth in Color, a reproductive health nonprofit, which distributed literature at the event and emphasized the role of doula and maternal support in closing health care gaps. Virginia's Election Day is November 3.
