Three More Women Accused Packers RB Josh Jacobs of Abuse in Newly Released Police Records; NFL Says Investigation Remains Open

Police records obtained by The Associated Press show that three other women accused Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs of abusive behavior after his arrest this spring on a battery allegation. Their accounts were part of the evidence in Jacobs' battery case and were released to media outlets on Friday (October 30) by the Hobart/Lawrence Police Department following a public records request.
Jacobs, 28, was arrested on May 26 in Wisconsin after his then-girlfriend said he threw her to the ground. On September 10 he pleaded no contest to misdemeanor counts of battery and criminal damage to property: he received a $1,000 fine plus court costs on the battery conviction, and the criminal damage charge is subject to dismissal after 12 months if he satisfies the conditions of his deferred judgment agreement.
According to the records reviewed by the AP, police interviewed three women about alleged incidents in April 2021, January 2022 and May 2022. One woman alleged that Jacobs slapped her, grabbed her hair and threw her to the floor when she said she did not want to have sex, allegedly told her "I should kill you right now" and spit on her. Another woman claimed Jacobs grabbed her hair, put his hands on her neck, dragged her and scratched her chest. A third accuser said Jacobs grabbed her by the arms and shoved her against a wall. The allegations have not resulted in additional criminal charges.
Jacobs' attorneys responded in a statement on Saturday: "The Brown County District Attorney's office had these uncorroborated, old, and previously unreported allegations for months. They conducted their own exhaustive investigation, along with the police department, and the D.A. determined that only two misdemeanor charges were warranted." The statement added that a plea agreement followed, that Jacobs has repeatedly expressed his remorse and is honoring the terms of the agreement.
The NFL confirmed on Saturday that it will review the newly publicized allegations as part of an investigation that has remained open. Jacobs was placed on the commissioner's exempt list after prosecutors filed charges in August, sat out the Packers' first six games, and returned on October 25. In two games since returning he has rushed 32 times for 75 yards and one touchdown and caught 11 passes for 68 yards and two scores; the Packers are 5-3. According to The Associated Press and Heavy.
