The Boston Bruins rallied from two goals down in the third period to beat the Chicago Blackhawks 5-4 in overtime on October 31, with Elias Lindholm scoring the winner at 2:32 of overtime off a Charlie McAvoy assist.

After Ryan Greene and Connor Bedard scored back-to-back goals to give Chicago a 4-2 lead with 7:40 left in the third, Mason Lohrei pulled one back 46 seconds later and Morgan Geekie tied the game with 12 seconds remaining. Goaltender Michael DiPietro made 37 saves, including a breakaway stop on Anton Frondell's hat-trick bid in overtime.

David Pastrnak's goal was the 428th of his career, moving him past Patrice Bergeron into third on the Bruins' all-time list. Chicago outshot Boston 41-32, with Arvid Soderblom making 32 saves.

Chicago veteran Patrick Kane became the first American-born player with 900 career assists, setting up Frondell's opening goal. According to Reuters, Kane threaded a pass across the low slot to Frondell in the right circle.
