Duke's Nate Sheppard Scores a School-Record Five Touchdowns in 47-2 Rout of Boston College

Duke routed Boston College 47-2 on October 31 at Duke's home field in Durham, North Carolina, as running back Nate Sheppard ran for 97 yards and a school-record five touchdowns, three of them in the first half.
Sheppard's fifth touchdown also gave him 18 total touchdowns this season, a Duke single-season record. He had already taken over the game by halftime, scoring three times as the Blue Devils built an early lead.
The first quarter also produced a rare play: after Duke took a 13-0 lead, Boston College blocked the extra-point attempt and Carter Davis returned the ball more than 100 yards for a two-point conversion, making it 13-2. Those were the only points Boston College scored all game.
Duke allowed nothing further and closed out the 47-2 win. The result and Sheppard's records were cross-checked against the Associated Press college football roundup and NCAA.com's live coverage.
