Ole Miss Rout Auburn 45-15: Chambliss Accounts for Three TDs as Rebels Close on a 28-0 Run

No. 12 Ole Miss beat Auburn 45-15 on October 31 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford. Auburn pulled within two points midway through the third quarter and had a chance to tie, but after the two-point try failed, Ole Miss closed the game on a 28-0 run over the final 18 and a half minutes.
Ole Miss led 14-9 at halftime on 1-yard touchdown runs by 315-pound defensive tackle Will Echoles and Shekai Mills-Knight, while Auburn stayed close on Byrum Brown's 21-yard touchdown pass and a 29-yard field goal. A 20-yard Ole Miss field goal made it 17-9 in the third quarter before Brown capped a 75-yard drive with a 7-yard scoring run to cut it to 17-15; his two-point pass was stopped short of the goal line.
From there it was all Ole Miss: quarterback Trinidad Chambliss scored on a 26-yard draw for 24-15, then threw fourth-quarter touchdown passes of 6 yards to Caleb Cunningham and 28 yards to Horatio Fields, before backup Deuce Knight's 17-yard scoring run with 3:27 left sealed the 45-15 final. Chambliss finished 22 of 34 for 263 yards and two touchdowns, adding 65 rushing yards and a score.
Brown went 25 of 38 for 195 yards and a touchdown for Auburn. 'It's really disappointing the lack of finish from that point on,' Auburn coach Alex Golesh said. 'That certainly was the turning point.' Ole Miss improved to 6-2 overall and 4-2 in the SEC; Auburn fell to 4-4 and 2-4 in league play and hosts Arkansas next Saturday. (Reporting from Auburn's official athletics site)
