Pennsylvania Backs Tronix3D Expansion in Pittsburgh: Nearly $4 Million Investment Creates 47 New Jobs

Sunday, November 1, 2026 · States · GSM News

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro announced on October 30 that additive-manufacturing company Tronix3D will invest nearly $4 million to expand its plant in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County. The state Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) is supporting the project with a $200,000 Pennsylvania First grant.

The expansion will grow the company's production space at 6901 Lynn Way from 3,700 square feet to 12,000 square feet. Tronix3D has committed to creating 47 new jobs over the next three years while retaining its existing 18 positions.

Tronix3D provides industrial 3D-printing production for customers in robotics, automotive, aerospace, medical and defense industries. CEO Mike Vindler said the added capacity will help the company keep pace with rapidly growing demand. DCED Secretary Rick Siger said advanced manufacturing is a core sector of the state's economic strategy and that investments like this keep high-skill jobs in Pennsylvania communities.

The Shapiro administration says it has secured more than $43 billion in private-sector investment and roughly 29,000 jobs since taking office. Advanced manufacturing, robotics and life sciences are priority industries for the state, and the Pittsburgh region, anchored by its universities and robotics cluster, has been a focal point of that recruitment effort.
