American Airlines Restores Daily Miami–Cap-Haïtien Flights

On November 1, American Airlines restored its daily nonstop route from Miami, Miami-Dade County, Florida, to Cap-Haïtien, Haiti; flight AA2492 departed Miami International Airport that day, ending the carrier's suspension of Haiti service since late 2024. Under the published schedule, the route operates once daily with a Boeing 737, linking Miami International Airport with Cap-Haïtien International Airport and serving Haiti's northern coastal region.
The restoration does not include service to Port-au-Prince, which was not part of this resumption. American announced the route's return in June 2026, and the November 1 inaugural flight put the announced plan into operation. Local media interviewed passengers waiting to board at Miami airport; many members of the Haitian diaspora said the nonstop link will make family visits and trips back to the north of the country easier. For Miami, an important Caribbean gateway, the route's return also restores its air connection with northern Haiti.
