Sunday, November 1, 2026 · Sports · GSM News

The University of South Carolina Gamecocks, from Columbia, Richland County, South Carolina, stand at No. 23 in the Associated Press college football Top 25 released on November 1, returning to the poll for the first time since week two of the 2025 season. A day earlier, the Gamecocks won 42-25 at Oklahoma for a third straight victory, a run that includes wins over two ranked teams and a preseason top-10 team.

South Carolina received just two votes and eight points in the previous week's poll, sitting effectively around No. 30, before jumping to No. 23; within the Southeastern Conference, its AP ranking is ninth. In the USA Today Coaches Poll released the same day, the Gamecocks were the first team out, at No. 26 with 91 points.

The Gamecocks are 5-3 overall and 3-3 in conference play. They next host Texas A&M on November 7 at 3 p.m. Head coach Shane Beamer said the team, written off in early October, has proved itself with the winning streak.
