Warriors Beat Clippers 124-112 for Fourth Straight Win: Rookie Lendeborg Scores Career-High 37 as Curry and Green Rest
SAN FRANCISCO, California: The Golden State Warriors beat the Los Angeles Clippers 124-112 at Chase Center on Sunday night, November 1, for their fourth straight win, with rookie Yaxel Lendeborg scoring a career-high 37 points while Stephen Curry and Draymond Green rested on the front end of a back-to-back.
Lendeborg hit six 3-pointers and added six assists in his fourth 20-point game of the season; his 37 points were the most by a Warriors rookie in a single game since Curry in 2010. He scored five straight points midway through the third quarter to push Golden State's lead to 83-68. De'Anthony Melton added 21 points, Brandon Williams and Brandin Podziemski scored 17 apiece, and the Warriors' bench contributed 40 points.
The Clippers led by as many as 11 in the first quarter, 37-26 after a 10-0 run, before Golden State answered with an 11-2 run early in the second and took a 63-57 halftime lead. Rui Hachimura led Los Angeles with 24 points and Kobe Sanders scored 16 off the bench, but the Clippers lost their fifth straight game. The season series is now split at one win apiece.
A night after the Golden State Valkyries won the WNBA championship in the same building, Valkyries players Gabby Williams, Tiffany Hayes and Kiah Stokes brought the trophy through Chase Center during the first quarter to cheers from the crowd.
