Flyers Beat Mammoth 6-3: Konecny Returns With Two Points After Missing 10 Games
PHILADELPHIA: Travis Konecny had a goal and an assist in his return after missing 10 games with a lower-body injury, and the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Utah Mammoth 6-3 at Xfinity Mobile Arena on Sunday night, November 1.
Matvei Michkov put Philadelphia ahead at 12:49 of the first period before Dmitri Simashev tied it at 14:24. Konecny restored the lead at 1:06 of the second period with a backhand that went in off the skate of defenseman Artem Duda, and Noah Cates made it 3-1 at 5:50.
Christian Dvorak scored the game-winner at 1:02 of the third period and Oliver Bonk pushed the lead to 5-1 at 5:35. Utah rallied with power-play goals from Mikhail Sergachev at 16:00 and Logan Cooley at 17:07 before Cole Knuble scored into an empty net at 18:26 for the 6-3 final.
Cates and Dvorak each had a goal and an assist for Philadelphia. Cooley had a goal and an assist for Utah, Nick Schmaltz and Clayton Keller each had two assists, and Karel Vejmelka made 15 saves.
The Flyers (4-8-4) ended a three-game winless skid (0-2-1). The Mammoth are 9-6-0. (GSM, via NHL.com)
