Yo-Yo Ma Returns to the Dallas Symphony for One Night Only, Nov. 20

In Dallas, Dallas County, Texas, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra presents cellist Yo-Yo Ma at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center on Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. for a one-night-only performance of Dvorak's Cello Concerto in B minor. It is Ma's first appearance with the orchestra since 2017, and the orchestra's website lists the concert as sold out.
Music Director Fabio Luisi conducts. The program opens with Mozart's Symphony No. 31, "Paris" - a nod to the city of Ma's birth - while Dvorak's concerto, written during the composer's years in America, is a testament to his love and longing for his Bohemian homeland.
The Dallas season is stacked with major guests: pianist Lang Lang gave a recital in September, and in April 2027 Hong Kong conductor Elim Chan takes the podium while Hong Kong pianist Aristo Sham, gold medalist of the 2025 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, makes his orchestra debut in Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 2.
