Conducting Fellow Ziwei Ma Leads Free Outdoor WALLCAST Holiday Concert in Miami Beach, Dec. 19
In Miami Beach, Miami-Dade County, Florida, the New World Symphony presents its annual holiday concert, Sounds of the Season, on Dec. 19 at 7:30 p.m., led by Ziwei Ma, a Conducting Fellow from China. The concert inside the New World Center (500 17th St) will be simulcast onto the building's 7,000-square-foot exterior projection wall, free for audiences watching from SoundScape Park.
The outdoor broadcast is part of the orchestra's WALLCAST series, which runs seven concerts this season with projection upgraded to 4K this year. No tickets are required; audiences bring blankets or lawn chairs.
The New World Symphony is America's leading orchestral academy, training 87 Fellows. Co-founded by the late Michael Tilson Thomas, it is led today by Artistic Director Stephane Deneve. Ma, one of this season's Conducting Fellows, also takes part in the orchestra's Prokofiev program on Nov. 21.
