San Francisco Unveils Victory Parade for WNBA Champion Golden State Valkyries on November 4

San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie announced on November 1 that the city, in California, will hold a victory parade for the WNBA champion Golden State Valkyries: on Wednesday, November 4, from noon to 2 p.m., the parade will travel along the Embarcadero from the Ferry Building near Mission Street to Second and King Streets. Fans may line the route from 9 a.m.; the event is free.
The city released the day's street closures: from 12:01 a.m. to 4 p.m., eastbound King Street and northbound Embarcadero between Third Street and Broadway, among other segments, will close; from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., southbound Embarcadero, westbound King Street and parts of Washington, Mission, Howard, Folsom, Harrison and Bryant Streets will also close.
Muni's F and N lines will be suspended from about 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the 15 Bayview Hunters Point Express bus providing substitute service, and BART will run extra trains. The city urges fans to take public transit.
Valkyries President Jess Smith said the team looks forward to celebrating a championship that belongs to the whole Bay Area community. The city advises residents and businesses near the route to plan ahead for parking and access impacts.
