Monday, November 2, 2026 · City · GSM News

The city of San Jose, California, will hold its 108th Veterans Day Parade on Wednesday, November 11, stepping off at noon in the downtown area. According to the San Jose Public Library's event information, a pre-parade ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. at Plaza de César Chávez.

San Jose's Veterans Day parade dates to 1919 and is among the longest-running in the United States, drawing veterans' organizations, military bands, schools and community groups through downtown streets each year.

The city reminds the public that downtown streets along the route will be temporarily closed, and drivers should detour or use VTA light rail and buses. Veterans Day is a federal holiday, and city offices and library branch hours are adjusted for the day; schedules are posted on the city and library websites.

Veterans Day, observed on November 11 across the United States, honors all who have served in the U.S. armed forces with parades and remembrance ceremonies nationwide.
