Café Mesa Community Café Opens in Costa Mesa Next to Donald Dungan Library
The city of Costa Mesa, in Orange County, California, has a new community space: Café Mesa, a community café, recently cut the ribbon next to the Donald Dungan Library, offering residents a place to gather and meet.
According to the office of Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley, Foley invested $1.2 million in the project in 2022, followed by additional equipment funding, to bring the community café to life. The café is designed as a shared neighborhood space serving library patrons and nearby residents.
The Donald Dungan Library is the Orange County Public Libraries system's main branch in Costa Mesa. City and county officials said the café rounds out the community functions around the library, giving residents coffee and gathering space steps from the stacks.
Café hours and event information are available through Supervisor Foley's office and Orange County Public Libraries.
