Bears Elevate Tight End Carlson From Practice Squad: Fills In for Season-Ending Injury to Kmet on Monday Night

In Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, the Chicago Bears announced on November 2 that they had elevated tight end Stephen Carlson from the practice squad to the gameday roster for that night's Monday Night Football game at the Seattle Seahawks. It is a standard practice-squad gameday elevation, and Carlson will revert to the practice squad after the game under league rules.
The move follows a season-ending knee injury to starting tight end Cole Kmet. Third-round rookie Sam Roush steps up as the second tight end, with Carlson serving as the third. Carlson, 29, had not appeared in a game this season.
