Georgia Democrats Disclose $2.1 Million Legislative Push: Money Into 16 Battleground Races in Bid to Pick Up 10 House Seats

Monday, November 2, 2026 · States · GSM News

The Democratic Party of Georgia has invested $2.1 million this election cycle in paid communications and mail across 13 battleground state House races and three battleground state Senate races, aiming to pick up 10 House seats in the November 3 election and flip control of the state House for the first time in decades, according to reporting by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on November 2, which the party highlighted the same day.

Under Chair Charlie Bailey, Georgia Democrats have built the state party's field infrastructure around battleground districts, created an in-house research department to poll and inform messaging, and concentrated resources on targeted races. Bailey said he is confident the party will flip seats and make progress toward breaking 24 years of Republican rule.

The reporting noted that flipping the House remains a long shot, but Democrats could still shake up the balance of power under the Gold Dome without winning outright. Results of the legislative races will follow the November 3 vote.
