Green River Council Moves Meeting to Thursday to Avoid Election Day, Will Reconsider $3 Million Water Tank Loan

The Green River City Council in Sweetwater County, Wyoming, has moved its regular meeting to Thursday night, November 5, at 7 p.m., so as not to interfere with the November 3 general election, and will again consider a $3 million loan agreement to rehabilitate the Teton Water Tank. The same motion failed on a deadlocked vote on October 7.
The loan, from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund through the State Loan and Investment Board, would cover engineering and construction costs for the tank rehabilitation. A 2025 inspection found significant corrosion on the interior and exterior of the tank; the loan would be repaid with increased user fees accounted for in the 2025 rate design study.
The council will also consider authorizing a $6,246 grant application to the Wyoming Game and Fish Department for three new adjustable shooting benches at the shooting range; the grant requires no matching funds, and the city would install the benches if awarded. The council workshop takes place that evening at Green River City Hall; the meeting is open to the public and will be streamed on the city's video channel.
