44 Arrested in Cincinnati Over Halloween Weekend: Two Officers Assaulted, One Man Shot Dead

Cincinnati police in Hamilton County, Ohio, said on the evening of November 2 that 44 people were arrested citywide over the Halloween weekend in connection with a shooting and other incidents, including the assaults of two Cincinnati officers; one officer was taken to a hospital and another was treated at the scene. The incidents included violent crimes, crowd disturbances, assaults, firearm-related incidents and large disorderly gatherings across several neighborhoods; 11 people were arrested in Corryville, and police confirmed two arrests in connection with the assaults on the officers.
In a span of about two hours late on October 31 into November 1, officers heard gunshots outside a nightclub on East 7th Street shortly after midnight and, entering Memories Lounge, found Kameiro Blair-Martin critically injured; he was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he died. At 1:27 a.m., two officers were attacked while detaining a person in a disorderly crowd near Jefferson Avenue.
Ohio Attorney General Andy Wilson said in a November 2 statement that he was appalled by the assaults, calling violence against law enforcement unacceptable. Police said the investigations are continuing.
