Reuters reported on November 2 that, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, measles cases in the state reached 1,433 as of November 2, up seven from the previous update, as the state battles its worst measles outbreak in years.

State health data show 269 measles-related hospitalizations so far this year and five measles-related deaths counted in Pennsylvania in 2026. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has confirmed three measles-linked deaths but has not said where they occurred. CDC data as of October 29 showed 4,852 measles cases nationwide this year, of which 1,411 were from Pennsylvania. The CDC has previously said it would send additional support to Pennsylvania to help investigate the outbreak.

The state health department did not release the distribution of the new cases in its November 2 update, and the investigation is continuing.
