Final Vermont Poll: Janoo Leads Governor Scott 51% to 43% in the Governor's Race

The University of New Hampshire Survey Center's final Vermont poll shows Democratic/Progressive gubernatorial candidate Amanda Janoo leading incumbent Republican Governor Phil Scott 51% to 43%, an eight-point edge. The Green Mountain State Poll was conducted online October 27-31 among 1,231 respondents; among likely voters, 51% said they will or have voted for Janoo and 43% for Scott, with 4% backing independent Brian Judd, and a margin of error of 2.8 points. The survey also found 62% of likely voters expect Scott to win.
An earlier UNH poll in late September had Janoo ahead 49% to 43%, while a subsequent Vermont Public poll put Scott up 10 points and an October 27 State Navigate poll put Scott up 3, showing wide variation among pollsters.
The same poll gives Democratic challenger Molly Gray, who held the lieutenant governorship from 2021 to 2023, a 63%-34% lead over Republican incumbent Lt. Gov. John Rodgers, and U.S. Rep. Becca Balint a 66%-31% lead over Republican nominee Gerald Malloy. As of Friday morning, nearly 140,000 Vermonters had returned ballots; polls close at 7 p.m. on November 3, and both gubernatorial candidates were still campaigning statewide in the final stretch.
