Monday, November 2, 2026 · States · GSM News

Weekend Halloween storms and flooding in northern Arizona turned deadly. Police in Flagstaff, Coconino County, said on November 2 that two men were found dead in the city that day, while a man remained missing near Castle Hot Springs in Yavapai County and the search continued.

Responders found an unresponsive man near Ellery Avenue and W.C. Riles Street at about 5:28 a.m. on November 2; he was identified as Williams Singavarapu, 73, of New York, who had fallen into floodwaters the previous evening. At about 8:26 a.m., officers found a second man in a stormwater drainage area near North Highway 89 and Lynch Avenue. He had not been identified; preliminary findings suggested his death may have been weather-related, and the cause and manner of death remain under investigation by police and the Coconino County Medical Examiner's Office.

The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office is still searching for Benny Sutton Jr., 63, missing from the Castle Hot Springs area since November 1; his disappearance is also believed to be weather-related. The Castle Hot Springs resort is in Yavapai County, about 51 miles north of Phoenix.

Police asked anyone with information to call the Flagstaff Police Department at 928-774-1414 or Silent Witness at 928-774-6111.
