Monday, November 2, 2026 · Events · GSM News

The National Park Service announced that Shiloh National Military Park, in Hardin County, Tennessee, will offer a free guided bus tour for veterans, active-duty service members and their spouses on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11.

The four-hour guided tour runs from noon to 4:00 p.m. Participants are encouraged to bring water and snacks and wear clothing appropriate for the weather. Seating is limited and advance registration is required; those interested can register by calling Shiloh National Military Park at 731-689-5696.

Acting Superintendent Randy Martin said that in recognition of the enduring connections between the American military and the National Park Service, the park is pleased to offer tours to those who have served or are currently serving this Veterans Day, and is honored to provide the military community an opportunity to connect with the important history they defend.

The Shiloh battlefield is a major Civil War site in the war's western theater. Federal and Confederate armies fought there for two days in April 1862 in one of the largest battles of the war's early phase, and the national military park preserves its battlefield, cemetery and memorials for visitors today.
