Ventura Invites Residents to Be a 'Santa to a Senior' Starting Nov. 12

As the holiday season approaches, the City of Ventura, in Ventura County, California, will kick off its annual Santa to a Senior program on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2026, collecting gifts for older adults served by the Ventura Avenue Adult Center. Gift donations will be accepted through Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2026.
According to the City of Ventura Parks and Recreation Department, the program supports older adults ages 60 and over who receive daily meals through the center's in-person dining service or its home-delivered meal program. Many live alone, with family far away, and a gift chosen by a neighbor may be the only one they receive all season.
Recreation Supervisor Janine Cobian says the program delivers the community's goodwill straight to seniors' doors. Residents can pick up wish information at the adult center, prepare a gift, and return it by the deadline for distribution during the holidays.
