The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 117-112 on Monday night, November 2, in an NBA regular-season game at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored a game-high 43 points with 8 assists and hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 32.6 seconds remaining, as Oklahoma City ended a two-game losing streak and improved to 5-2. Cleveland, which fell to 4-3, lost at home for the first time this season.

Oklahoma City led by as many as 14 points at 69-55 in the third quarter before Cleveland rallied, and the fourth quarter featured eight ties and eight lead changes. Ajay Mitchell's pull-up jumper put the Thunder ahead 112-109 with 1:16 left, Sam Merrill answered with a tying 3-pointer, and Gilgeous-Alexander then stepped back from 24 feet to put Oklahoma City ahead 115-112 for good.

Gilgeous-Alexander made 14 of 35 shots — his 35 attempts matched his career high and were the most by any NBA player in the first two weeks of the season — while going 4 of 8 from 3-point range and 11 of 12 at the free-throw line, for a season-high 43 points. Ajay Mitchell added 20 points for the Thunder and Isaiah Hartenstein grabbed 14 rebounds. For Cleveland, Donovan Mitchell finished with 17 points and 11 assists, rookie Meleek Thomas scored 17 in his first NBA start, Evan Mobley had 16, and James Harden and Jarrett Allen scored 14 apiece. Oklahoma City made 21 of 23 free throws to Cleveland's 14 of 24.

The Thunder won without starters Chet Holmgren, Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace and top reserve Alex Caruso, after losing their previous two road games by 20 or more points. The two teams meet again on Wednesday, November 4, in Oklahoma City to complete the home-and-home set.
