BEA Seeks Feedback on Its Data Tools Through December 31 as API and Interactive Tables Are Modernized

Monday, November 2, 2026 · Federal · GSM News

The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) announced that it is planning to modernize its data dissemination tools, particularly its Application Programming Interface (API) and interactive data tables, and is seeking public feedback through December 31, 2026.

BEA said user feedback is important for developing the best experience in its updated systems. It is seeking responses from users of all types — researchers, policymakers, media, students, and more — and encourages feedback based on each user's specific expertise, experience, or interest. The questions are open-ended, and responses can be abstract and visionary or highly concrete and technical.

The bureau wants to know, for example, which new features would make its API and interactive data tables more useful, which data formats and access methods work best for users, and which changes would help BEA data offerings better integrate with modern analytics tools such as Python, R, and super intelligence (SI). The full questions and submission instructions are at bea.gov/form/feedback.
