DHS Highlights More Illegal Aliens Arrested in Iowa, Citing Burglary, Drug Trafficking and Domestic Violence

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released a statement in Washington on November 2 highlighting another set of illegal aliens recently arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Iowa — five people whose criminal histories include burglary, drug trafficking, domestic violence and driving under the influence.
"During those four long years of disastrous open borders and sanctuary policies under Biden, every state became a border state. That includes the great state of Iowa," said DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin. "In recent weeks, ICE has arrested violent assailants, drug traffickers, and drunk drivers. President Trump has promised to make America safe again, and that is what we're doing by arresting and deporting illegal aliens. DHS will never stop until we have removed as many illegal aliens as possible in order to make everyone's communities safer."
The five are: Manuel Avalos Banderas, from Mexico, arrested by ICE in Pottawattamie County on October 19, whose criminal history includes convictions for two counts of first-degree burglary, dangerous drugs and illegal re-entry; Josue Ponce-Ulloa, from Honduras, arrested in Polk County on October 21, with a conviction for domestic abuse assault; and Gerzon Martinez-Aleman, from El Salvador, arrested in Hardin County on October 22, with convictions for intent to deliver cocaine, intent to manufacture and deliver methamphetamine, and carrying weapons in a vehicle.
The remaining two — Axel Sanchez Torres, from Mexico, arrested in Muscatine on October 1 with a history including domestic violence, drug trafficking and driving under the influence, and Jefri Hanwar Abel Cap Villagran, from Guatemala, arrested in Hardin County on October 15 with convictions for assault, operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest and eluding while exceeding the speed limit by 25 miles per hour or more, plus an arrest for driving under the influence — also appeared in the previous Iowa list DHS released on October 22, which GSM reported at the time.
