FTC and Washington Take Action: Payment Processor Riverside Payments to Pay $600,000 Over Claims It Deceived Small Businesses

Monday, November 2, 2026 · Federal · GSM News

The Federal Trade Commission announced on November 2 that payment processor Riverside Payments Inc., its affiliate Cascade Equipment Leasing LLC, and their operators will pay $600,000 to resolve Federal Trade Commission and Washington state allegations that the firms deceived small businesses.

According to the FTC's complaint, Riverside Payments falsely promised to save small businesses money on payment-processing services but failed to disclose fees and auto-renewing contracts. The company also made it nearly impossible for merchants to cancel, despite offering "risk-free" cancellation.

The $600,000 payment resolves the allegations brought by the FTC and Washington state.
