The U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced on November 2 that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 15 criminal illegal aliens across the country over the weekend, convicted of heinous crimes including homicide, criminal rape of a child, and first-degree rape. Two of the cases were in California.

"While Americans enjoyed their weekends, the brave patriots of ICE were working around the clock to arrest the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens from our communities, including murderers, pedophiles, and rapists," said Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin. "Sanctuary politicians do not change ICE's mission nor its obligation to enforce the law. Every crime committed by an illegal alien is 100% preventable."

According to DHS, the homicide cases include Gerardo Ruiz Castillo, from Honduras, convicted of voluntary manslaughter with a deadly weapon in Clark County, Nevada; Priscila Antonia Regalado Vazquez, from Mexico, convicted of homicide - negligent manslaughter with a vehicle in Gallatin, Tennessee; and Marvin Wilfredo Ruano-Vides, from Honduras, convicted of involuntary manslaughter and illegal reentry in Chelsea, New Jersey.

Those convicted of sex crimes against children include Jair Fernandes De Oliveira-Junior, from Brazil, convicted in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, of criminal rape of a child, two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, and kidnapping; Salvador Leon-Vasquez, from El Salvador, convicted of first- and second-degree child molestation in Franklin County, Washington; Jose Enrique Garcia-Vazquez, from Mexico, convicted of lewd or lascivious acts on a child under 14 in Santa Clara, California; Andres Acosta-Martinez, from Honduras, convicted of indecent liberties with a child in Sampson County, North Carolina; William Gonzalez-Luna, from Mexico, convicted of sex with a minor more than three years younger in Santa Maria, California; and Hector Medina-Baldovinos, from Mexico, convicted of attempted sexual assault of a child in Dakota County, Nebraska.

The remaining arrests include Carlos Cedillo-Morales, from Mexico, convicted of first-degree rape in Buncombe County, North Carolina; Mario Rodriguez-Ramirez, from Mexico, convicted of rape in Nashville, Tennessee; Carlos Junnior Castro-Gonzales, from Peru, convicted of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact in Saddle River, New Jersey; Santiago Gudino, from Mexico, convicted in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana of assault, participating in racketeering activity, and cocaine sale; Byron Alberto Ramos-Alvarado, from El Salvador, convicted of second-degree aggravated assault in Dover, Delaware; and Abdulkerim Kedir Halid, from Ethiopia, convicted of armed robbery in Montgomery County, Maryland.

DHS said Americans can see more public safety threats arrested in their communities on its dedicated webpage.
