Three Members of Congress Tour Riverside Ballot Processing Center Ahead of Election Day

Tuesday, November 3, 2026 · California · GSM News

The Riverside County Registrar of Voters in California hosted a congressional delegation on October 29: Representative Norma Torres led Representatives Mark Takano and Raul Ruiz on a tour of the county's ballot processing center for a briefing on preparations for the November 3 general election.

Torres serves on the House Administration Committee, which oversees federal election matters. During the visit, the members met Registrar of Voters Art Tinoco and Assistant Registrar Matthew Ceballos and were briefed on how mail ballots are received, signature-checked, opened and counted, and on the center's arrangements for public observation.

After the tour, Torres promoted "Know Your Rights" voter cards produced by her office, which explain the rights voters have when casting a ballot. She reminded voters who run into problems that they can call the California Secretary of State's voter hotline at (800) 345-VOTE (8683).

Riverside County has about 1.43 million registered voters and is one of California's most populous counties. Its vote centers for this election grew to 152 locations on October 31 and remain open until 8 p.m. on Election Day. Ballot processing at the center continues after Election Day until the county certifies the results within the statutory deadline.
