Houston Chinese Community Center to Host Free Medicare Enrollment and Vaccine Clinic and a Credit Workshop for Seniors on November 6
Houston, Harris County, Texas — The Chinese Community Center of Houston will host two free events for community residents on November 6 at the center at 9800 Town Park Drive in Houston. The morning event, co-hosted by the National Asian Pacific Center on Aging and the Chinese Community Center, is aimed at seniors and their families and offers free Medicare open enrollment assistance and vaccination services, helping seniors who are unfamiliar with English or the enrollment process complete their paperwork.
From noon to 1 p.m., the center's Financial Opportunity Center will join Wellby Financial for a free credit education workshop explaining practical ways to raise a credit score, manage debt and improve one's finances; registered participants can also enjoy a complimentary lunch. Organizers said the workshop is designed for any resident who wants to understand the U.S. credit system, with no professional background needed.
The Chinese Community Center has long provided adult education, a Chinese school and community services in Houston, and scheduling Medicare enrollment, vaccinations and financial education on the same day is meant to let seniors take care of several everyday needs in one trip. Residents who need the services can contact the center in advance about registration.
