Astros Pick Up Isaac Paredes' $13.35 Million Club Option for 2027

The Houston Astros of Harris County, Texas, announced on the evening of November 2 that they have exercised infielder Isaac Paredes' $13.35 million club option for the 2027 season, keeping the 27-year-old under contract for another year.
In his first full season with Houston in 2026, Paredes played 155 games and hit .262/.360/.447 with an .806 OPS, 25 home runs, 27 doubles, one triple and 94 RBIs. His 2027 salary is $4 million above his $9.35 million salary in 2026. If he finishes in the top 10 of American League MVP voting, the club option could convert to a mutual option; MVP results are scheduled to be announced on November 12.
Houston enters the offseason with five established infielders — Paredes, Carlos Correa, Jeremy Pena, Jose Altuve and Christian Walker — competing for four spots. Keeping Paredes preserves infield stability while leaving room for offseason roster moves.
