A marching band video from Thomas Jefferson High School in Jefferson Hills, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, has gone viral on social media. In the clip, senior Layla Clark leads AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" on xylophone and other mallet keyboard percussion, and an October 30 post on X had passed 5.3 million views by November 3.

According to USA Today on November 3, the performance was filmed last season. Clark and the band's other percussionists lead the opening 45 seconds of "Thunderstruck" on keyboard percussion before the rest of the band joins in. The district says Clark is now a senior.

The video was first posted on X by user @RonnieAEvans on October 30 and was widely reshared. The West Jefferson Hills School District posted on its official account on October 31 that the clip had reached 3.1 million views and counting, writing: "What an incredible spotlight on Layla and the talent of our Jaguar Marching Band! Jaguar pride is reaching millions!" By November 3, the post had passed 5.3 million views.

The clip also drew praise from music and film figures. According to TribLIVE, composer John Mackey shared the video to Threads and called Clark a "ROCK STAR," while film producer Franklin Leonard, founder of The Black List, reshared it on X and wrote: "I hope Layla Clark walks into school on Monday like the absolute legend she is."

"Thunderstruck," released by AC/DC in 1990, is best known for guitarist Angus Young's opening riff. This time that opening was hammered out at high speed on a xylophone, the moment that drove the clip's spread. GSM has not reposted the original video; readers can watch it in the original X post.
