White House: Today Is Election Day, Polls Are Open Across the Country

The White House sent voters an Election Day reminder on November 3: today is voting day in the 2026 midterm elections, polls are open across the country, and voters who have not yet voted are urged to head to their polling place today and make their voice heard.
The White House listed four steps to take before going: first, check your polling hours, because polls close at different times by state; second, bring what you need, as many states require ID at the polls, so check your state's ID rules; third, if you are in line when polls close, stay in line, because you can still vote; and fourth, if you have a mail ballot, drop it off today at an official drop box or your election office and check your state's deadline. Voters who need a ride can find free options nearby or call 2-1-1.
The White House also asked those who have already voted to help someone else get to the polls, and to forward the Election Day information to friends and family and bring them along to vote. Voters can find their polling place through the official link in the White House email.
