Nicole Taylor of TikTok Country Trio Taylor Red Dies at 35 After Cancer Battle

Tuesday, November 3, 2026 · Society · GSM News

On November 2, Nika Taylor and Natalie Taylor of the country trio Taylor Red posted a nearly 11-minute video across TikTok, Instagram and YouTube announcing that their triplet sister and bandmate Nicole Taylor had died on September 28 at her home in Nashville, Tennessee. She was 35. She had been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 2022 and fought the disease for four years.

"We are shocked and heartbroken to announce the passing of our sister, Nicole Taylor," the sisters said in the video. "We thought she would be here sharing her story of earthly healing, but instead we're here sharing her story of heavenly healing, and she's at peace and no longer suffering." Nicole was the oldest of the triplets, born one minute before Natalie and two minutes before Nika, and was the group's leader: she played banjo and guitar, sang low harmonies, and had co-hosted a country radio show with Taste of Country.

According to her sisters, Nicole's cancer was an aggressive stage 3 at diagnosis in 2022. She initially responded well to treatment, rang the bell at the end of her treatment course and showed no evidence of disease, but nine months later the cancer returned and progressed to stage 4. Doctors gave her a prognosis of about three months; she lived for another year. She did CrossFit workouts during chemotherapy and told her sisters: "We're not going to live in dread. We're going to have fun during this time."

The Taylor sisters grew up in Hurley, Mississippi, began performing professionally in 2011 as Red Roots, changed their name to Taylor Red in 2018 and moved to Nashville. During the pandemic they started a TikTok account and shot to fame with lighthearted videos, growing to 13.4 million followers on the platform, and their single "Country Money" drew millions of views.

The family has held a private funeral. In a tribute on the group's website, the sisters wrote: "She was our leader and our best friend. We are heartbroken, but we know she is in Heaven and will see her again." The site also hosts a memorial page where fans can donate to Samaritan's Purse, one of Nicole's favorite charities.
